Linton and District History Society
Where History Comes To Life
Welcome to the website of the Linton and District History Society. The Linton and District History Society (LDHS) was founded in 1983. Its purpose is to host a lecture and fieldwork programme on historical topics which extends from the local to the international. The LDHS also provides a forum for local research and record keeping.
Meetings are held at 7.00pm on Wednesday evenings when refreshments (tea/coffee and biscuits) are served during October and March at Linton Village Hall. Lectures start at 7.30pm prompt and last for approximately an hour, followed by questions. We warmly welcome both members and visitors.
LDHS welcomes new members. Annual membership costs £5 and each meeting £2. Entry for visitors is £3. There is no charge for students in full time education.
Upon joining the LDHS members are issued with a Programme Card which gives details of all lectures for the academic year, plus information on committee contact details and the website.
Please contact the Treasurer at firstname.lastname@example.org or any member of the committee for more information.
